MAXit Plug-in for UltraXML™

MAXit is a fully ASD-STE100 Simplified English standard compliant and a sophisticated grammar checker that interactively shows you how to improve and simplify your text. The program encompasses the rules for ASD-STE100, ATA iSpec 2200 and Simplified English vocabulary. The advanced version has thousands of editing rules, based on the IBM style guide for Controlled English. The simplification is ideal for non-aerospace applications like Life Sciences, Banking, Telecommunications, Computer Software, Automotive and many other industries.

How MAXit links to UltraXML

To provide sophisticated textual analysis including grammar, style and syntax, UltraXML sends a document or text selection to a Windows 2000/2003/XP server called the MAXitServer. This program can serve from 2 to 1500 of UltraXML users at the same time. MAXit is ideal for collaborative authoring. The author selects the text or complete document. A right-clip menu sends the text to the MAXitServer where MAXit makes a full-sentence check for, grammar, syntax, vocabulary, comprehension, translatability, cultural acceptance and usability. In comparison to the WORD grammar checker, MAXit uses custom dictionaries that contain, unique product names, chemical formulas, special terminology all within a Controlled English dictionary. A Synonym or "reverse dictionary" tells the author the correct terms and many suggestions. The MAXit analysis uses Artificial Intelligence and 8,500+ linguistic rules developed from 15 years of language research. MAXit never forget, but the author always has the last word.

How MAXit shows the errors inside UltraXML

The connection into UltraXML is through a small connector on the user desktop and Windows TCP/IP connection into the MAXitServer. The marking of the errors is done automatically with UltraXML with colour highlights. The MAXit marks do not change the structure of an XML document or style sheet and are removed automatically. The colour highlights offer an easy visual method to see errors.
