UltraXML for Structured Product Labeling - SPL

UltraXML is a native XML WYSIWYG  authoring and publishing solution with an integrated high end composition engine that utilizes XSLT technology to enable visual and  interactive design of the most complex stylesheets to fulfill the requirements of any publishing industry. UltraXML can fully support the authoring, formatting and publishing of Structured Product Labeling (SPL) XML data.

UltraXML offers many advantages over similar SPL publishing systems, features including:

  • Interactive and WYSIWYG easy to use working environment, enables the user to see how the SPL XML document will look as it is being create it. (No need for additional programming skills i.e. Arbortext ACL, XSLT, C++ and/or C).
  • Uses raw (pure) XML and XSL for formatting in real time, no conversion to local formats is required.
  • Checks the ‘validity’ and the ‘well formed’ of the SPL XML document while it is being created or even before you import it!
  • UltraXML gives the unique ability to be able to modify the style sheet and see the modified changes instantaneously.
  • Visual XML tree for easy SPL document navigation and XML authoring. Easily identifies the SPL document tags and elements (Header, Body labeling content and data elements).
  • End-user configurable to support different business rules and different customer requirements thus eliminating the need for costly external consultants.
  • Full Unicode Support.
  • True and dynamic Multi-Channel Publishing (publish to the Web (HTML), Postscript, PDF, e-Book, or any other format).
  • Full Typesetting and typography support.
  • Macro driven with script support for automated publishing.
  • Highly customizable.

For the SPL support, UltraXML is supplied with a variety of generic and ready to use stylesheets. The rendition stylesheet enables SPL XML file to be converted to human-readable display in a variety of formats including HTML (complying with the HL7 SPL stylesheet), PDF or hard copy making sure that the actual XML source code is untouched with no processing or formatting instructions added to it and 100% valid against the SPL schema. In addition the user can easily modify the stylesheet to make any required modification to the final output.

UltraXML can easily generate additional stylesheets that can be used in different regulatory environments such as those used by the FDA which require separate stylesheets.
